PUL-53's itch.io pageJudge feedback
Judge feedback is anonymous.
- PUL-53 was an interesting game, and I found the level you constructed to be particularly well suited to showcasing the puzzle-shooter design. PUL-53 was responsive, although I would not recommend playing it through Chromium browsers. I found the control scheme quirk of firing while standing still vs firing while moving to be especially interesting, as it fundamentally rewards speed running behaviors. The music chosen to score the game fit fantastically with the energy and pacing I can imagine for this game, once completed. Regarding the player perspective, the game felt more like a standard FPS than it felt like I was the PUL-53 weapon. While the lower camera height did help massage the perspective a little, I believe a 3rd person camera option (perhaps with a reticle, still) might be necessary to deliver the vibe you're looking for. Thank you very much for this submission to Pirate Software Game Jam 16.

Yes
Summarise your game!
YOU ARE the PUL-53(Portable Uberforce Launcher 53), a weapon that acts like a "Quake" Rocket Launcher, and after gaining sentience, you must escape from the lab you were created in. Blasting away everything around the pulses, including yourself, rocket jump to escape capture from the scientists. Oh, and don't fall in the liquid of inconvenience and death.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
While it may control and feel like a regular FPS, I wanted to really emphasize you BEING the PUL-53 Cannon. To do this, I did not include a jump button. Not only are you a weapon, you have to utilize the weapon’s special blast properties to push you through the levels.
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
My main focus was game feel and physics, so any input on that would be great.

Ty! Glad you enjoyed the music :)
Pretty neat game. It was fun knocking the bad guys off the ledges. Jumps were a bit hard initially but I got the hang of it :D
