Mycelium Mindset's itch.io pageSummary of Approach
We prototyped an AR scavenger hunt in Snap Studio that would highlight how environmentally damaging industries could be transformed through fungi-based solutions and alternatives. Through these transformations, the user ends with an awe-inspiring sustainable future created through these actions.
Subject-Matter/Problem Background
What is your general topic? Demonstrating ways that fungi act as a climate solution to help people visualize how a sustainable future could be achieved.
What is the problem/question you’re tackling? Young people increasingly feel overwhelmed and anxious, too small to make a difference, or like the system is too broken to fix. How can you use AR to empower people to step up, rather than shut down, in response to the climate crisis?
Why does it matter? When we reframe from “solving climate change” to “solving the individual broken systems that have lead to it” we downsize the problem into something manageable and psychologically shift away from doomsday visions toward a sense of agency.
