This submission was great. We really liked your approach to the prompt. A text based game was a creative and intelligent way to approach an escape themed game jam. With game jams participants can often get caught up in the artistic nature of working in an engine and care less about the mechanics.

Some possible areas for improvement would be as follows:

  • You could add the possibility for chance based actions where an action that would normally get you killed would have an certain percent chance of working.
  • With text based games you want to feel like your decisions matter, one way of going about this is adding a mechanic such as an inventory system. An example of this would be like in your zombies mode where if you pick up a gun you could have a mechanic that would account for ammunition. This would allow the player to feel like his decision to shoot a zombie or run away really matters.

Overall this submission was really great, and we hope to see more submissions from you in future jams.
