I did a couple of Unity learn pathways, I made 2 smaller solo projects and a wip game that I have up on itch.i for testing. All in all my game dev experience is less than a year.

How does your game relate to the theme?
Oh no! The player is being attacked by zombies. Why? Because they hunger for your magic! So you have to charm them and shatter them to get more power. Why do you get more power?

Because the zombies have obviously eaten charming players like you before. So when you shatter them you obtain a bit of the previous owner's power.
