  • Art: What works well? Direction of Ray helps the player intuitively see and understand the direction they’re turning and/or accelerating. I especially appreciate how distinct the obstacles and pieces are. I thought it was cool that the energy of the background also changes in the 3rd level as the obstacles grow more intense. What could be improved? There’s a sudden visual break when a “level” ends and while the freedom to play and enjoy unobstructed space during the transition is nice, this sudden break and sudden re-entry into the next level takes a while for the player to understand what exactly is happening. Design: What works well? Smooth and simple controls with a “feelable” acceleration that doesn’t take very long to learn. What could be improved? With games of this type, there’s typically an additional player input that can compensate in last-second decisions such as a boost or a shift. For a game like this (designed to be relaxing), I’m uncertain what could help preserve that intent but the player may benefit from having the opportunity to make one additional dimension of control happen for Ray. Audio: What works well? The music and sound effects most certainly fit the “vibe” of this relaxing game. What could be improved? It’s nice that none of the music or sfx in this game is aggressive (thus meeting the relaxing tone of the game), but it does also shake the immersion to hear a "crunching" sound against such beautiful background music. Writing/Narrative: What works well? For a dream, the game plays like one :) What could be improved? Without need for much detailed “reasoning”, the obstacles and collectibles are a missed opportunity to create an interesting point of purpose for Ray as he floats through his dreams.
  • Love the expressive little ray and background art. Felt like I went on the journey as well and gained a sense of calm and tranquility. *~: *✧・゚:*
