THE CODE LUDUM OF LORD GAME JAM
Let your most ambitious TTRPG cosmology unfold from your tiniest zine!
Put more plainly, the goal of this this jam is to create a system-agnostic RPG setting supplement, with an emphasis on cosmology. Make up a whole world, fill it with gods or faeries or spirits or eldritch forces, and describe it in a tiny white book!
Presented in celebration of Quinns Quest Play to Find Out - Season 3: Nobilis.
THOU SHALT SHOW DEFERENCE TO THE GREAT WHITE BOOK
- In its aspect, let your entry be square
- In its scale, let your entry be no larger than 5.5" x 5.5"
- In its aesthetic, let your cover have ample white space
- In its page count, let your entry be modest — 8 is a nice place to start
THOU SHALT SHOW AMBITION IN YOUR CREATION
- Create a cosmology describing the nature of reality and the powers that shape it
- Let your imagination free — you may hew closely in theme to the world of Nobilis, or you may diverge wildly: squabbling gods, faerie courts, the scheming embodiments of abstract concepts, or something much much stranger
- Fill your cosmology with conflicts and tensions that create opportunities for play
- Craft your Tiny White Book as a pile of snow upon a raft such that the iceberg it implies would sink the mightiest ship
- Let your setting be free from system, such that any TTRPG may take on the mantle of your world
- Should your ambition be great enough, let these rules bend before you, as you embody instead their very spirit
