In the “center area” it was difficult to find even a wall with this flame’s speed.
The diamond has robbed all of the players' possessions… It was initially unclear if this was a positive or negative development, but one soon discovers this action is “feeding kindlings to the 7Flames”. The initial artistic vision however, is excellent.
Hello,
Thank you for playing my game and leaving feedback. I agree with you that the center could have been better, and the speed could have been faster. I intended to improve the dash mechanic to make up for the speed, but in hindsight, it probably would have been better to increase the player speed instead of thinking the dash would be enough. Spamming dash just to move faster is not very Good gameplay, at least for this game.
I think the character art is beautiful and I quite like the cutscene videos. The levels themselves were visually barren but there was still something charming about them. I say this as a compliment, it reminded me of flash games I would play as a child. I was compelled to finish them game but I got to a point where I think I was looking for one last kindling hidden somewhere on the map, and unfortunately it bested my patience. I think the game would have benefitted from having more dots than necessary to allow for a little wiggle room. I also would have preferred that the camera be zoomed out a little more like in your screenshots, as it was I got lost often, even in the very center just trying to count how many flames I had collected!
Thank you for playing my game! I agree with adding more kindling. Since there are 7 spaces you traverse through, if you miss 1 anywhere, it can prolong the gameplay. I'm also really glad that you enjoyed the art. I was trying to strike a balance between having the space feel empty/barren, but also having its own unique aesthetic. So it's good to know that hit it.
Interesting concept!! TThe music was dope! I wish there was a minimap or something not to get too lost
Thank you for the comment. I appreciate you checking out my game. The mini map was definitely an option I was considering and wish I had moved forward with.
