Hi GoodChicken!

Wow, this game was thrilling! I am convinced its darn near impossible. I think this is a good thing.

I was able to get to like 1100 or so by staying in the middle lane, watching the lane to my left, and jumping back and forth only when I saw the color I needed. This felt cheesy. I would recommend the following:

  • Make the game slightly easier. This is important for the next two suggestions.
  • Either put color blocks on the middle lane as well (so the player can't cheese the way I did) or make it so if the player goes so long without touching a block they start to slow down.
  • Make the outer tracks give higher speed boosts. You want to encourage your player to use the whole field, not just the center like I did.

These suggestions are meaningless if playing the game the way it is meant to be played (i.e. moving along all 5 rails) is too difficult to succeed at.

I thought this was an awesome game though. Super creative and addicting. Well done!

Hey thanks for the input!

I agree the game is really hard, it took me like half an hour to beat it. They way you did it wasn't cheesing it, it was the only way to beat it because i didn't really think about the design too much and the 2 outer lanes became useless. At first the game did have colors in the middle lane but it was just literally impossible to beat and even if the colors in the outer lane gave more points it'd be impossible to reach them at high speeds. The ideal solution would be introducing a mechanic to be able to move through all 5 rails at high speed (maybe control the car with the numbers 1-5 and just teleport the car instantly to the lane) because i really wanted to focus on the sensation of speed (with the music and the colors moving really fast) so just making the colors slower wouldn't work, i'd have to put more thought into it, maybe i'll improve this concept in the future.
