What did this game do well? (Answer in a few sentences)
- This game was a fun platformer. The level design was cool. It was very satisfying to reach the goal after failing a couple times.
- It took me a while to understand the controls and how to use each of the movements effectively to complete each stage. In this sense, you guys did a great job creating a game with room for the player to learn and build skills.
- It is very interesting, show how to control the red box to arrive the final point. Each level has different kind of obstacles, give the game more depth, a little like Super Mario.
- - Need skillable operation to pass the level. Gap between platforms needs subtle manipulation of velocity starting jump, which requires players to practice on jump skills.
- There is usually multiple possitble solution to reach the target, using combination of double jump or climb or dash.
- Total goal is clear to see and easy to start with.
What could be done better? (Answer in a few sentences)
- I think the jump button and climb should have been the same. It was a bit frustrating having to time the two buttons. I think the level design could have been more complex to add more options for the player.
- - Could add more levels fully utilize the dash op. Currently double jump could sovle most of the problems.
- Could add some traps that increase the difficulty like Cat Mario.
- Could add death times couting how much times player died on this level XD.
- Expect more useable skills.
- I've never played Celeste, so I'm not sure if this was intended, but when I grab a wall, it's very difficult to do anything besides fall down or move laterally. Am I supposed to dash after grabbing walls or be able to jump? It is clear on the maps you build where you're supposed to grab walls, but I'm not quite sure where to go after.
- Currently, the number of levels of difficulty is only 3. In order to let the game with more depth, it should have more levels. Meanwhile, it can set background music and more dynamic obstacles in each level of the game, which can let the game more attractive.
