  • I haven't seen this style of game before, good job! I couldn't tell how to control the medic character and therefore I couldn't finish the first level. A tutorial or some mention of controls built into the game would have been good. I put out all the fires early on but they then sprang back to life. I found this a bit disappointing as I had expected to win once the fires were out. Once you lose you are thrown immediately back to the main menu. A short delay and a notification to acknowledge that the state you have reached is the failstate is always good. The Heat bar was a little small and having a red pip on an orange background made it quite difficult to see where it was at at a glance.
  • This was good, I just wanted to give some general feedback: 1. The Main Menu is usually the first thing that is seen in a game, so it can be worth spending the time to add some polish to it 2. Add a "How to Play" and "Controls" screen so that people know the objectives, and how to switch between characters. 3. Think about adding a highlight or a way to distinguish which is the character you're currently controlling. 4. Think about adding alternatives for how you change the character. There's a lot of mouse movement and clicks, think about using the keyboard. Also, think about alternative control/path mechanisms, i.e. drag along tiles for a custom path. 5. Look at a adding a game over screen to show your score, with a high score. Something so that people can see how well they did, as opposed to being kicked to the main screen. Like I said though, this was good, and something you should be proud of!
  • Too many technical issues to really evaluate the game properly, but it feels like there's a game with a goal here. I would concentrate on fixing UX issues and making sure the game gives you feedback as these also help with figuring out bugs. Noted the second level, I could only seem to save one civilian as the medic stopped working. Apart from this there seemed to be bugs with the fire spreading too. You mention it's too arcadey, and I agree, this game may fare better if it was turn based.
  • Really good effort. Id strongly recommend adding some audio to the project. Theres a few minor bugs, the path lines seem to be drawn over the front end and draw to random locations when entering a level. Other than that good effort :)
