  • A good approach to the R&D side of the project, and great to see you starting with the basics and getting used to the rig. The animation work on show would have benefitted from some extra rotation and translation (specifically the X axis) on the body. The extra consideration on rotation will make the character feel less robotic. The attack would benefit from a bolder anticipation, faster “release” into the attack and more impact on the land to make it feel more beastly. It would have been great to see a transition from “normal” mode to “beast mode”, and a clearer recovery rather than just a jump away. Overall, there’s some good animation work on display. Well done.
  • The idle is quite simplistic and perhaps would benefit from some variations and the walk cycle could maybe benefit from a bit more 'character' adding,( rise/fall etc. ).The jump section could do with having more dynamism . It's quite slow for a big creature/crustacean....needs some acceleration into the jump, faster during the jump and some secondary anim when hitting the ground after the jump. I don't feel the creature could cover that amount of ground from a standing start.

Nice render , I feel the anim needs a polish pass to perfect the jump section to really bring this to life.
