  • This is an interesting concept for a character, it would be great to see how it turns out when you finish it! Some feedback on the work so far: ∘ although it's a stylised character make sure to pay close attention to the anatomy in the sculpt - be intentional about where muscles interlock ∘ marvelous designer would be useful to learn for the clothing ∘ scale up the mesh in your modelling software before importing to ue5, sometimes if the mesh is too small and you scale it up in ue5 it creates artifacts ∘ the low poly has too much density and the UVs aren't layed out in a suitable way for texturing, but I understand it's unfinished so I'm sure you haven't had time for this part yet! Keep it up, looks like it will be a fun project to work on! Feel free to reach out with any questions ~ Sasha Gallie, Character Artist at Double Eleven https://www.artstation.com/sashagallie
  • Contestant: Mark Gallagher @rondorandojouska Assessor: Tristan McGuire / @draconic_cowboy Tier: SFAS Congrats on submitting your project! Things that went well: ✧ Well done on still submitting something, even with completing the project in a short space of time. ✧ Cool to see you design your own concept. Things to consider next time: ✧ In games, we pose our characters with the arms out at the sides at about a 45 degree angle, not super close to the sides. I would encourage you to look at examples of real game art online to see how it’s done. ✧ When presenting your textures and UVs, it’s really hard to understand what I’m looking at. For future projects, try either adding an image of the UVs overlaid with the texture, or making a copy of the texture that doesn’t have the padding, so that we can better see what we are supposed to be looking at. ✧ Try to be more confident in your use of forms - avoid wobbly and bumpy shapes and aim for super crisp, readable forms. I hope this feedback proves useful and will help you with future projects and building your portfolio. You can find me on the social medias in the link below. Feel free to reach out in the future. All the best! https://draconic-cowboy.carrd.co/ - Tristan, Deputy Senior Character Artist at Airship Interactive.
