  • Contestant: Rob Cole / @Rob Cole Assessor: Tristan McGuire / @Draconic_Cowboy Tier: Rising Star Congrats on completing your project! Things that went well: ✧ Great to see the use of a custom rig as this is a skill going above and beyond expectations of a character artist. ✧ Nice to see some thought was put into the environment that the character is existing within. ✧ Confident stylised high poly work. ✧ Really nice low poly model. Things to consider next time: ✧ Really nice start with the UVs. These could have been optimised even further with additional straightening of the edges so that the shells could be packed tighter. ✧ For your final presentation, the beauty renders are really nice, but it would be best to also include some more refined technical renders of the HP, LP, UVs and textures that would look great on your portfolio. ✧ A couple of areas on the low poly such as the energy cells would have benefitted from further optimisation. As you are in the Rising Star tier, I hope this feedback can be used to inform how you approach future university projects and I would love to see you take part in the competition again next year! You can find me on the social medias in the link below. Feel free to reach out in the future. All the best! https://draconic-cowboy.carrd.co/ - Tristan, Character Artist at Airship Interactive.
