  • I personally like the style and your execution of it. It reminds of a game I like a lot: The Wild Eight. You also mention "Life is Strange" and you achieved something close from it. Only with a more textured feel. Good lighting. Good job!

Very nice effort of documentation and presentation, better than average in my opinion.

Beware of your Substance Designer graphs (the one that you published seems a bit messy).

  • The scene feels great, Reading your report you know well where your skills are good/poor, I think this is a really nice piece and love the details in places.

My only suggestion is to focus on higher poly assets and pipeline going forward(which you acknowledged in your report)  and you'll be in a great place to get a Job. Learn and practice the full High to Low pipeline until your happy with your speed and then once your happy with that move onto learning substance designer/painter and get your texturing skilled up. And in no time you'll have a solid portfolio.

  • Firstly your design document is well presented and written. This explains your thoughts and planning throughout the project perfectly. Following your trello link I was able to see the projects development a bit more in depth with the reference images used to inspire your concept as well as your mood and lighting for the scene. I can tell that you really wanted to work on your texturing/shading skills on this project. Pushing for more complex shaders than you could usually use. This helped to also express the stylised look more, I like that you paid a lot of attention to the lighting of the scene as well, this is a huge part of the project due to it setting the tone and mood of the environment. Your texturing pass workflow is a very nice way to approach things, By ensuring that there's some variation on most surfaces gives it that realism feel. By being able to work in a variety of different texturing packages is also an advantage when going into the industry as means you can be flexible. The models are basic in form but show a nice clean topology which is most important.

Overall I would like to say well done on the project it’s eye catching and pleasing to look at. I feel with your hard work on the materials/textures have really brought the environment together. Shows consistency throughout the scene with nothing looking out of place. This as well with the lighting finishes the scene and makes it complete giving that of Life is Strange vibe.
