The idea is solid and technically impressive . The lights are rendered really realistic. My only note it would be on the story that you wanted tell, the room is just perfect for the look of the motel but the elements of the family that should be there are missing even just a luggage and the teddy bear maybe more near to the lamp to make it more visible. Also I have a doubts about the emotional response from the gamer that you wanted to achieve.
Really lovely work, well executed and tight quality across the board. Great work. Nice Document detailing your process was good to see you managed time well, kept the scene manageable for the timeframe.
Really like the concept for this entry, it's a creative and playful take that gives a nice sense of narrative to an environment that could otherwise be a touch overfamiliar. Allied to that, the technical execution is excellent, with high quality assets and texturing throughout. The bed is a particular standout - believable cloth is tough in 3D.
My only criticism is that the final lighting is too contrasty, with the final renders featuring areas of almost crushed black. This is a shame as it hides some of the excellent asset work. I know the artist was aiming for a cosy atmosphere, but I feel a bit more bounced light from the lamp would help even out the scene somewhat - there are examples of that effect in some of the concept reference.
