- Viral Assault was a quirky game which felt a bit like the old Armored Core games. Something about the virus' shape and movement seemed like it was trying to emulate the spider mech style, and the enemies behaved in a way that reminded me of the enemy AI from AC games at a high level. Introducing level structures, and having enemies appear from unique areas (maybe holes in the wall / buildings) would increase the organic feeling of threats as they appear in this game. The virus was very well assembled, however it failed to move properly in all instances. Generally, the front legs would stay bent and the back 3 would appear to be dragged behind the player. Melee attacks appear nonfunctional, and level progression became sitting atop one ball while all the other balls filed in one at a time. I got pretty far using that strategy, but was quickly overwhelmed when my ranged attack didn't supplement my ability to deal with waves enough to deal with the collateral damage I was taking by jumping on all the enemies. Thank you very much for this submission to Pirate Software Game Jam 16.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes
Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes
Summarise your game!
It's a horde shooter where you fight off white blood cells coming to kill you for trying to infect the host
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
I submitted the wrong one first so sorry if this is rushed. I think it fits the theme by having you play as a virus trying to kill as many white blood cells as possible. You regain hp by latching onto cells and 'convering them' into more of you
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Just be honest and give me general feedback, I think I did pretty good with the procedural animation but I'll take anything. Thanks!
