  • Design document is well organized and very detailed. The inspirations for the game are described with images to help visualize the game components being described. The document throroghly covers the intended player experience as well as the game's mechanics and includes reference images for clarity. The art style is described and includes a mockup image as an example. Great to see consideration for time frame and project scope in every section of the plan. The game itself matches the descriptions in the GDD quite well. The top-down 3D aesthetic is cool and works well with the ships and environment. Good touch not including a 'reverse' control. I'd suggest altering the color and/or shape of the enemy bullets. As it is, they're a bit hard to distinguish from the exhaust effect on the ships. I managed to kill several enemies before I died, but it didn't look like I was collecting scrap from the kills. I'm not sure if I was doing something incorrectly or failed to pick them up somehow. That being said, while I did have scrap the healing and shooting both worked nicely and would make a longer run very interesting. Really cool start here! Lots you could continue to work on and expand upon if you wanted to stick with this game.

Yes

Summarise your game!
An action top-down arena survival game, where you pilot a hover-craft, full of saws! Survive as long as you can as number of enemies increase over time.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Your main way of dealing damage is to slice them up with your hovercraft, as well as picking up their parts to use as weapon.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Web version might not work as well as win
