  • Really interesting concept, game runs fine, as you've already noted in the comments the transitions can be a little delayed and dis-orienting. I'm sure though that one would get used to that as they played more. The music is good and lively, I really love the sound effect when you start accelerating. The visuals are good, the enemies sufficiently creepy looking that I don't feel bad squishing them. Very well put together GDD I'm impressed with it's completeness. This is a maze so it can be very confusing to navigate but that is the purpose of a maze after all.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
This game is a different take on the classic Ball Maze toy, where you control a ball to reach an objective. This time, YOU are the ball moving through the maze to hit all enemies and clear the level in the shortest time possible.

The unique feature in the game is that now you can move through any of the 4 walls (floor, ceiling, side walls) in order to reach the enemies.

Each level attempts to evoke nostalgia via their art style reminding of classic games like Doom and Super Mario Kart.

The player controls the ball using keyboard with simple movements and the challenge players have to face are brought by the changing point of view on each corridor and wall they are.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You are the ball that hits the enemies, literally the weapon to win this game

It took me some time to understand the controls, I think that it comes down to how the maze looks. Everything is very similar so it's hard to understand what you did after you pressed a key. Some kind of transition and more diversity in the look of the maze would help for sure.

It's pretty hard to track where you are and where you already went. You could add some kind of trail to help the player.

If you want to reward the fastest players you could add some kind of score to each creature and each creature you get fills a "combo" gauge that gets depleted when you don't kill anything. You could have some kind of score that represents the most optimal path in the maze.

Loved the audio track :)

Congratulations !

Thanks for the feedback! These are valid points, in fact i wish i had more time to implement some of these before the Jam ended, but time was short. I believe the movement transitions could be improved, especially around the transition between corridors, and also implement some kind of map or as you suggested a trail of where the player has passed already would be nice too.
