- Thanks for your entry into the game jam! I love me some bot on bot action! Love the concept of boxing battle bots. The varied bot fighting weapons and styles was fun to play against. Art style was great and absolutely let me know what I was in for (in a good way) Music and sound effects were also well done and fitting for the theme and setting! Regarding controls: I started with using q and e to punch before realizing there was mouse attack support. Much preferred mouse attacks! Fighting seemed smooth at first until going into the 2nd round and then the added weapons made for difficult and clunky combat. The dodge and backup movement was less smooth and perhaps needed a shift key to jump back and allow s to be a simple move back. Hitting or landing punches also seemed less responsive that I would have liked. They worked but didnt seem to have any weight or omph behind them. Overall great concept and the execution for a game jam was amazing!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes
Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes :D
Summarise your game!
Upper Hand is a fast paced boxing game where you swap out your hands for random objects in order to gain an advantage over other strange boxers. You play as a little robot who starts with punching gloves and eventually equips things like sawblades, cannons, electric guitars, jackhammers, and more.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
It mostly fits with another definition of weapon 'a means of gaining an advantage over another' (paraphrased) as you use unfair tools to win in a boxing match. However, it also fits with the common definition since you turn your hands into weapons, and play as a fighting robot made to be 'the ultimate boxer'
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
I really wanted it to feel like a WWE match, very theatrical and dramatic. I hope you enjoy!
