Didn't get much off the ground from the game design document. We interpreted alchemy as change/mixing and shadows as colors and the premise of the story is evil AI robots come and steal creativity and color from the world, leaving the game world itself literally unsaturated and as the player progresses through levels and boss fights the world slowly returns colors and becomes beautiful again.
Extra Notes
Me and my partner both learned a great deal, thanks for pushing us into our first game jam!
