- Very basic game. but works as intended. I think finding a chinese/japanese chill soundtrack to underline the actions and some sounds when selecting the symbols would do the game a bit better, but it work as intended. Every game can profit from more Ninjas...but also Pirates (yarr). Though just choosing Ninjas as a character and then letting them do wuxing is a biiiit of a stretch. (also metal begets water rain is gathered via metal gutters or vapor condenses on cooled metal sheets). Also we are not jerks just because we read the GDD ;) If you are happy with what you made, good, otherwise I would see (to learn) it that you can add some sounds to actions taken. Works, good job.

Choose your ninja wisely to defeat the Master! The only game mechanic is Wuxing. Wuxing is a philosophical concept of five base elements all either feeding into one another or overcoming one another. Wood generates fire, water overcomes fire, water generates wood, for example. Alchemy to me sings of the classical elements, where we thought to turn lead to gold by modifying how hot and wet it was inwardly. While this thought of alchemy is very Aristotelian, China's concept of Wuxing is a counterpart which is very cool. Western-Ninja type designs don't really mesh with chinese alchemy schools, but man. Do I like ninjas. and man. Do I like Wuxing. When I read shadows and alchemy, I knew it was time to make a Wuxing Ninja game.
One Player mode actually is underwhelming; the algorithm isn't smart and would be called Easy Mode if I got Hard Mode working. Two Player mode has one player use the QWERT keys to control the Master, with the Master's sprite returning to normal after they select a move. Since the Ninja Player is expected to use a mouse to select still, it is suggested that the Master sneakily input a key before handing it to the Ninja.
