  • This game is very simple but I think your implementation of the light and dark mechanics makes an otherwise bland and boring mario clone into something unique and clever! The mechanics are simple and a wee bit clunky, but you did only have only two weeks after all, but its WAY more than some other teams of 5 managed to accomplish, so VERY well done! Keep making games dude you have a lot of potential!

Nocturnal Balance is a 2D action platformer with a focus on combat. The main gimmick of the game is the “strength of shadows cast by a strong light”. The player's main ability is to control shadows, but these shadows lose strength when surrounded by darkness and gain strength when in the light. The player will be forced to navigate and fight while being mindful of their position relative to the light in order to be effective.

Extra Notes
This is an early prototype, I got as much done as polished as possible within the time allotted but it's not the best. Still gotta somewhere though, and starting + continuing is always a hell of a lot better than doing nothing at all. Many thanks to Pirate Software for hosting this and getting me motivated.
