  • To get a better playability score, the game has to be immediately accessible. I don't want to have to chase down how to play the game through the GDD. The mechanics ought to be in your face to give the player the ability master those mechanics. If you weren't able to implement your gameplay loop due to time, that's fine and totally understandable. No harm, no foul. I did enjoy the 3D voxel/pixel aesthetic. However, the background was a bit too pixelated and was distracting to what was going on in the foreground. The models all looked really neat. Keep at it! Looking forward to what you have next!

Tell us about your game!
The game is relatively easy to get into and features a simple combat system involving beasts. It also includes several mechanics related to shadows. For example, at night, you can use a lantern to collect special shadows from objects like trees, gravestones, or even living animals, although collecting from animals can be tricky. This part is done in a three-dimensional view.

There is also a two-dimensional view, which focuses on the alchemical aspects of the game. Here, you can access an alchemical station where you select recipes to create specific potions. Additionally, there's a mechanic involving villagers. By pressing the bell icon in the two-dimensional view, a villager will come to you, indicating they're ill. You can turn on a light on the table in front of you to see their shadow, which reveals the nature of their illness.

To determine the specific illness, you need to consult a book available in the two-dimensional view. This book describes all types of shadow-related illnesses. After identifying the illness, you must create the correct potion to cure the villager.
