  • Great idea for the game! Although the game was not finished you have to remember that as long as you learned something during the Game Jam it is already a vin on your side! Great try and take care!
  • I found the movement smooth. I would love some music. The character art was nicely done, the background became very disorienting when running and jumping around. During my gameplay i did not understand how the theme was implemented. Looking at the GDD you have some a nice concept, but i would love the themes more Incorporated. Awesome job on the game hope you continue on this, as well to see you make something next Jam as well!
  • the game works and is functional but the controls are all over the place with how fast you move, no themes prevalent besides shadows on characters, and the game has no end goal, story, and you can fall out of the level with no way to save yourself, but if you are going for a fighting game / beat em up with shadows that could be a fun concept

The character has fun abilities, but only while they cast a shadow. Double jump is the only one implemented (art is hard), but jump, dash, evade, and attack would all have an alchemical ingredient associated with them, and mixing the ingredients would result in mixed abilities - for example, mixing the evade and attack ingredients would result in an ability that countered if hit during invincibility, or jump and dash would result in an air dash.

Since the character only has power while casting a shadow, very dark rooms or rooms awash with light would render them powerless. The idea for the story would be that forces of light and darkness are at war in the area, and the player could side with either one of those sides, weakening themselves as the area becomes more light or dark controlled, or alternate and try to bring down both forces, maintaining the balance and making it easier to use abilities.

Extra Notes
This didn't get as far as i might have hoped, but i did do the thing for the first time, and entirely on my own, so that's something. I hope you like the idea though!
