- What a fun game! I enjoyed playing it. During my playthrough I didn't encounter any bugs. The controls took some getting used to but once I understood it was good fun playing :) The mechanics with the rain and the ballon are a great idea and make it a bit more difficult, I liked it a lot! The fast jumping was a bit hard to control but it's managable. Well done on this game and keep making games!

As Mitzy the spider, jump your way to the top of the water spout. Use power-ups and your buddy Ray's sun powers to make your way through difficult platforming sections as varying forces of rain push you back. Be careful, don't fall into the running water and get swept away! You can make it!
"Mitzy Makes It" is a tricky platformer where you play as a quick-launching jumping spider with a simple, yet challenging control style. Enjoy original pixel art, along with moody visual effects and retro-inspired original music that synchronizes with changes in the weather.

I read in a comment this was a rage platformer, but I actually loved how wrong that was. Just the balloon alone gives you the ability to stop momentum, which makes this so much more doable. I did not like how long it took to reset after I fell, especially because I needed to take my hands off the keyboard to get my mouse, click yes, and then continue playing. The polish is also insane, from the starting animation to the music and the visual clarity, it feels like you guys are a real dev studio just making a spiderjump game for fun as a weekend project.
Nice job!
Sidenote, this is really cute:
"Good luck and THANK YOU to anyone interested in playing our game - you can make it!!!
Me and my 2 friends just made our first game ever for this jam, all because everyone keeps spreading this message, and indeed, we can make it! Thank you for the positivity!
Thank you so much for the kind words Chras001!! Your feedback on the reset time is really appreciated - that's something we could definitely make easier/quicker in an update after the game jam judging period is over... Just one of those things that could've benefited from a little more playtesting and polish time - call it a prototype thing :)
Thanks again for playing!!!
Yea it seems like a quick fix! Still glad I found this and gave it a try, it's a damn good prototype (and a fun theme :) )
Thanks again for your input here - your feedback directly influenced our Post-Jam Patch, which now includes a quick restart feature (hold R anytime), in-game speedrun leaderboards, and support for keyboard navigation through certain menus so you don't need to reach for your mouse as much. Cheers!
I assume this is a rage platformer. That first jump is not easy... Love the play on Itsy Bitsy Spider for the theme
Only thing is that restarting should be quick. It'd be nicer to just restart the level instead of having to click the button every time.
It was partially inspired by jump king to be fair 😅 Between the powerups, extra double jumps, and pressing shift to control your fall we try to give the player tools to survive!
Thanks for playing the game 😄
Oh no! Sorry to hear you got swept away. Thanks for the positive feedback and thanks for playing our game - you can make it! :)
