- Hello! Thanks for joining the game jam. It seems that you have written your GDD after making the game, but it is strongly encouraged to write the GDD before you begin to help you validate your idea. Something to keep in mind :) Jumping in, I like the overall feel and playability of your game. The atmosphere and music is great! It stuttered a bit for me on Firefox, but I'm sure a more fleshed-out final game that is installed directly onto a machine won't have the same performance issues as a quick browser-based prototype for a game jam. One small note: The torch light seems to be coming from my foot :D And usually having a directed forward-facing beam would mean he's holding a torch, but it looks a bit like a lantern. Possibly you were limited on available assets? I'll reiterate, they're just small things :) I like that you've got a PAUSE menu. Such a simple thing, but it allows me to pause the game and write notes like this without worrying about a timer or enemies or other things changing whilst my attention is off the game. The entire concept feels great. I like how you have a variety of enemies. The simple white ones that can be purified with the standard light. The black ones that hide in the shadows. The coloured ones that need to be purified with the same colour light. It feels like a fun exploration game & I think you could do a lot with this! Well done.
- Personally I feel, that the game mechanics itself were done correctly. Levels weren't always the same, flow was different enough. I wish the character was moving a bit faster, it felt frustratingly slow at some times. So from that PoV was quite well executed, but I don't feel the "alchemy" theme here. The spirits being color coded, doesn't really invoke anything in me. I can see the intent to turn it into a roguelike, but for me the different builds are still missing. Overall a solid basis, that can be worked on!

The main mechanic is defeating enemies by enveloping them completely in light. We managed to attach to that a light bullethell roguelike through, through which we explored some of the many ideas we had deriving from the core.
Extra Notes
Hope you have fun :)
