  • The game was challenging, but that was mainly due to the shift key not working for running, as we are used to it for sprinting. The ambiance was slightly creepy, which is probably because of the portrayed feeling of isolation. Few things to note: I really suggest figuring out a way to swap the v out for shift again. It's a lot easier on the hands. If you wish to make it a little more creepy, adding in a few whispering sounds in the darkness when the bar reaches the mid point would add a sense of urgency to the player, if only just a very slight, quiet whisper. All in all, I love the concept and it was a fun experience. After a bit of polish, the game has quite a bit of potential! Good work! Keep it up!

main mechanic is that a meter fills up when your in the dark. when it fills completely you die. the game has 3 zones, red light green light, a maze, and a jumping obstacle course. once you've collected the grubs from all the zones you can put them in the cauldron to beat the game. once you beat the game your darkness meter no longer fills up.

Impressive sound and level design - the atmosphere is really compelling; this blank land full of cones and spheres. Slowly dying when outside the light, accompanied by uncomfortable breathing noises, also a very solid theme interpretation. I noticed that there’s no way to control your motion in midair while jumping - that is realistic, but made the parkour a bit more difficult than the same level would be in another game! Regardless, I’m always impressed by a 3D game running in the browser (perhaps because I’ve been unwilling to branch out into 3D games!), especially a first time.

Great atmosphere, sound choices, and the level design synced up really well with the overall feel of the game. The jumping obstacle course took a lot of attempts and was very frustrating, but I eventually managed to get past it. The red light/green light section was quite cool and I enjoyed it. Well done, especially for your first time using UE4+HTML5 export and going on vacation for part of the jam. Awesome entry!
