- I love the detail in your game design document and the concept sketches and art look amazing. I would love to see what you outlined become fully integrated as the game itself needs a lot of work to be playable. I didn't see any significant connection to the theme in the published game - following the theme and having it be clear to the player how the theme is implemented is important. The game's loading screen also does not work properly. Other things that... ...I liked: - The different weapons - The music ...need more attention: - Sound effects
- While the artistic approach of the character, environment and even the music all feels like it comes together nicely, I felt the controls were easy to grasp, but when it came to making potions or crafting in some way, nothing seemed to work. For some reason, when I interacted with the cauldron after some exploration, the inputs only let me switch between the items I had collected, there was nothing that I could specifically select in order to actually conduct any crafting. Either I missed something or another, not sure there. I'd also include that, in relation to the themes, I didn't fully understand how shadow or alchemy played their parts in the game, outside of the dungeon area for shadow and I assume the crafting portion for alchemy. If my interpretation of these are as such, I cannot say that it feels compelling when playing, as I would like to see more of it expanded upon; something that makes having to go into dungeons stand out, or what other uses crafting is necessary for. Overall, I do believe you did a fine job piecing together things, even if it didn't fully come across to me as a result. Do keep up the hard work, all the same.
