Introduction
Game Summary Pitch
Metempsychosis is a light horror walking sim. You wake in a mysterious world not knowing who you are or anything about your surroundings. Metempsychosis is a philosophical and religious concept that involves the transmigration or migration of the soul, especially the idea that after death, the soul can be reborn in a new body.
The aim is to progress through the game learning who you are or who you will become. Bringing light and life back to this desolate place.

Inspirations
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
Taking inspiration form the environment, atmosphere and phycological themes.

Alan Wakes
Using light to damage and manipulate the environment.

Player Experience
The current player experience is to explore the world and find ‘Pedestals’ to begin the process of bringing life back to the world. You will encounter environmental problems to slow your progress. You have a lantern which is used to see in the extremely dark world but also to light the ‘Pedestals’ having to manage your fuel as if it runs out you cannot light more pedestals. You slowly lose health when not in a lit area.
Future additions to the game would be:
• Enemies to hinder the player.
• Notes/messages/NPCs to explore the concept of metempsychosis and to the player character.
• Level/story progression

The game is intended to be released on windows PC

• Unreal Engine 5 – engine and some megascans
• Blender – for some models and player character alterations

Singleplayer, light horror, adventure walking sim, atmospheric, phycological.

Target Audience
This game is intended for people who enjoy phycological horror, exploring worlds and discovering the mystery’s that it holds. The game mechanics are simple and the intention is to become lost and engrossed in the themes that the game explores

Concept
Gameplay overview
In the current game state, the gameplay is to explore the environment and discover and light all pedestals. The intention of the gameplay is to explore the world and the story that it would contains There will be environmental hazards and light combat to slow the player and make them choose different paths as the player slowly looses health when not in an area of light and your lantern’s fuel depletes which is your only way to light pedestals, progress forward and stay alive.










Art
Theme
The art in the game is intended to have dark, mysterious and horrific themes. Playing with light and saturation of the world. The assets are 3D and intended to be ‘realistic.’

Audio
Music
The music would be an integral part of the game. Helping to immerse you in the world. The music would be deep and ‘basey’ Music inspiration from Hellblade.
Sound Effects
Sound effects would be an important part of the game to add immersion and add to the horror of the game. Sounds to scare, shock and make you think twice.
Game Experience
UI
UI would be minimal in the game to try and keep you as immersed in the world and environment.

W and UP ARROW moves character
The mouse controls the direction of the character
RIGHT and LEFT mouse buttons for interactions

Extra Notes
The game is a prototype. It gives the basic concept of the game. I full vision of the game is a full immersive psychological horror driven by a story/trying to understand the game world and why the character is there. So much more is planned.
