In Theory:
You start as a microscopic cosmic horror fallen into an earthlike sea. As you move around the world you can convert other things into part of yourself in a way reminiscent of a tower defense game with all of the towers moving in unison around the map. As you spread the camera zooms out and the scale of the world changes.
You set up the rhythm of the nodes activating in a sheet music type menu as well as resource distribution. You can use the ABXY buttons to temporarily shift all power to the four different categories of actions (attack, defend, heal, corrupt) giving an optional rhythm game element. L1 and R1 give slots for special actions that can be triggered at any time but have a cooldown.
What you consume determines what node grows in its place and the overall composition of what you have consumed determines how the aesthetic changes as well as what new environments open up to you. The three extreme points on this triangle are biologic, electronic, and extradimensional.
