In Lumina’s Last Stand, the player controls a skeleton character, waking up in a world of darkness with a single central beacon of light. The core gameplay involves surviving waves of enemies that try to destroy any light. Enemies emerge from ominous dark blobs that sit just outside the reach of the beacon’s light. By defeating enemies in each wave, players earn currency, which can be used at the beacon for three key purposes: expanding the light through torches, enhancing skills, and acquiring useful items.
The game's unique challenge arises as the blobs multiply after each wave, spreading even more darkness and increasing enemy spawn rates. Players must strategically place torches to extend their safe zone and enable the destruction of these blobs, which can only be damaged if reached by torch light. As the game progresses, the balance between spreading light and containing the darkness becomes increasingly complex, requiring tactical planning and quick reactions.
