Don't give up, even when you don't know where you're going with the game. Sometimes you gotta see it in action to know where to go next. Sometimes just random experimentation will open new doors.
I had a serious creative block in the middle of the jam. Inspired by the food theme, I made some watermelon-based models and some props, but couldn't figure out what interesting thing to do with the gameplay, as I wanted something just feel-good and without danger, but didn't want to make a walking simulator. I was only able to get around that after giving that up and trying to make an adventure physics-platformer. I think it turned out alright, albeit pretty short.
