What did this game do well?

It was true to its minimalistic design. I liked being able to play against the computer. The game feels very complete. It is very clear the inspiration is from Pong and they added a unique twist. Easy to understand what everything is doing. The game does pong with a twist really well. It’s quite fun to play once the ball gets really fast. I also like the simplicity of the game and it screams multiplayer. The movement is smooth and overall, it’s a very nice game and has a solid foundation for more featues. The introduction of gravity does make the game experience difference. I like that the AI control is similar to the player, so it doesn’t make the player feel unfair. It was very simple and looks clean. Fun gameplay loop and is challenging to a good degree

What could this game have done better?

I feel like the difficulty of the game is a bit high. If someone hits a highspeed ball it is almost impossible to defend against and I hit a slow ball vertically and it took a while to reach the other side. This is mostly fine, if there was a particular thing I definitely need to be changed it would be the mouse button for playing the game. A key like spacebar would’ve been a better option for me. Maybe better AI, and increase ball speed when the ball is stuck at one side. One improvement is making it clear which is the player as initially, I was confused on who I was controlling or if I was kind of controlling both. I would like to see more of a twist, as this is still very familiar to pong, but that can come if you decide to expand on the idea. The AI logic needs to be improved, winning the game is more like waiting the AI to make mistakes. Adding some game feel to hitting the ball might also be helpful It gets a bit stale, but that’s just the nature of its simplicity. Also the AI is a bit wonky.
