What did this game do well?

****************************

this game is very addicting. I like the screen shake when I catch the wrong item. The game is also very aesthetically pleasing. I also like the sizing of the game; the screen feels just right for the amount of space used.

The game demonstrated its core gameplay well as a prototype. It was easy to follow that I needed to catch circles, dodge squares, and use the space bar to switch between pipes.

good color schemes

The instructions are clear and the gameplay is smooth. The game is fun and addicting to play. I enjoyed trying to get a high score in the game

I thought that this game really nailed the minimalism, the colors and style and puzzle element together worked really well in achieving a one-button game experience.

While it is a reaction test, having to distinguish between the 2 different shapes gives you a moment of thought before wanting to immediately jump towards or away from the shape

What could this game have done better?

****************************

It would be nice if there was feedback for catching the correct item. I also wish the timing of the items falling was more gradual; I feel like I was thrown into a more intense game. It would be nice if they started off slowly falling, and gradually got faster.

One small gameplay issue is that both pipes can throw a square out at the same time (or very similar times), effectively checkmating the player with no counterplay in that scenario, and forcing one life.

add a Cool Down Time (ban the key operation) when game is over to let player to see the score clearly.

Sometimes two cubes spawn at the same time and you are forced to lose a life. It would sometimes kill my runs.

I feel like that, even within the minimalism prompt, there could have been a little more player feedback to enhance the player experience. For example, adding some movement or animation when the cone moves from one side to the other might be a cool addition and make the game flow a little smoother. The shapes also sometimes fall together in a way where it is hard to catch one or the other, or switch lanes without hitting two obstacles at the same time.

Make sure that scenarios that are impossible to avoid getting hit don't happen.
