What did this game do well?

****************************

i love minimalism. Good music choice with a proper beat.

The basic mechanics are easy to understand and the groove meter is really forgiving. Level 2 is well done, albeit a bit short.

The inspirations for this game are very recognizable, and the player movement mechanics are very juicy and satisfying which is key for this type of game. Interesting mechanics and premise with the shield for jumping on beat, and side jump mechanics

The tutorialization with the shield can be a little hard , however it is straightforward and works well. The overall gameplay loop is intuitive and easy to access for new players.

The game somehow broke whenever I played it

Cool idea and the graphics and the music fit the game really well.

The beat mechanic is fun and the visuals are very clean, and feel in line with the synth music theme.

What an amazing game! Thats defintely my favourite type of game: rhythm + platformer. I love it so much!

The aesthetic of this game was really cool, and making it so t hat you had to move on beat was very cool.

This game is very unique and I like how it incorporates rhythm and platforming into a complete package. I think the mechanics fit perfectly together and the first level is a great introduction.

What could this game have done better?

****************************

no obvious tutorial. i don't know what happened but i cannot enter next level

With rhythm games you usually want lots of feedback from the screen (for beats hit, missed, etc.), so maybe adding more feedback and polish would be good.

There could be added indicators to allow the player to anticipate the obstacles. Although the shield charges when the play jumps on beat, but its very hard to tell the beats that the game means without an indicator. The timing of the music is not matched to the beat of the songs which is a fatal flaw for this

The collisions are inconsistent and can be frustrating for the player. And there are a handful of bugs.

I think the speed of movement was a bit too fast with not enough friction which made controlling the player a bit too difficult.

There's no feedback for jumping on beat other than getting shields, and it feels unfair that there are times when you can't avoid damage. At other times it feels like there isn't anything to do as shapes pass overhead.

nothing

maybe just more levels, i would love to see this as a mobile game.

It's frustrating to have to replay both levels when you die on the second one and this could discourage players of there were more levels without checkpoints between them.
