What did this game do well?

****************************

I thought the switching between characters was really cute and provided a fun puzzle to work with! It was an interesting mechanic and I enjoyed it

The core gameplay mechanics and puzzle-like system is very strong, with development could be very interesting. The puzzle design was pretty straightforward and it has alot of potential for complexity.

I like the puzzle aspect of the game and the idea of changing sizes to be able to access certain parts of the map or enable certain abilities. It was very simple yet it requires you to put strategy into use as you have to know where to go after turning into a mouse/human and when to use the potion. I also like how the levels increase in difficulty and introduces new mechanics with each level.

I really like the idea of the game. The changing of the character depending on the potion is definitely creative and fun for the player. I like that you guys increased the difficulty of the levels and introduced the features slowly but in a way that was easy for the player to understand what is going on with the game.

Interesting puzzle game. The progression in difficulty as you progress through the levels and learn new mechanics is straightforward and understandable

Really easy to understand tutorialization of the different forms' abilities. I was able to learn by doing, with basically no text on the screen. The animation for the human form is pretty good.

I love the idea of having two player types and transformation. Not a lot of people in the class do this, and it was really cool to see a creative difference in all of our games that hasn't been done before.

The animation of the player is pretty cute. Additionally, the swing animation is pretty cool. Also the idea of turning into a different entity to go into various parts of the map that are not accessible normally is very cool and can be expanded upon.

the functionality to be able to switch characters is very good.

What could this game have done better?

****************************

The game could just have more thoughtful puzzles/more gameplay options, but in general I liked it

There are a few bugs with the game, including some game breaking ones with the collision. The player is able to clip through pretty much all walls as a mouse. I think the game could work better as a game from a birds-eye perspective, as the top down perspective of the character doesnt make sense with how they cannot overlap slightly with the walls to their top.

I hope there would be more levels and I think it would be nice if there was a way that players can mess up a level which forces them to retry and reload the level. It would be nice if there was a timer of some sort that can also promote the difficulty in the game.

While the game is really easy to understand, I do think each maze can have a little more complexity to it to make the game difficulty higher. It feels very much guided in some cases.

Minor issue, but a restart button for when you mess up would be nice

The art style is a little mismatched, not all elements feel like they belong in the same game. The animation for swinging the sword is a little off, since the effect of the hit is as soon as you press the spacebar, and the animation breaks if you use it while moving.

I think that this game just needed a little more level design but other than that, great work.

Honestly, having a little animation for the rat would've made the immersion so much better. Just having a sprite move around with no animation feels kinda awkward. Additionally, the animation for the knight when swinging his sword just bugs out when you are holding the space bar. Also, the lack of music makes the game kind of creepy at times. Also I found a bug where the rat can just sort of... phase through walls?

The controls are tough. Maybe they should try fixing that.
