  • Thanks for joining our jam! As a prototype, the controls are fine. However, the text is a little bit difficult to read at times, and I wasn't sure what I was supposed to be doing at the beginning. A bit of a tutorial would have been nice. The game does run smoothly, but some antivirus applications say it's a virus. Next time, you can try packing it with --onedir, which should hopefully work for you. The UI is relatively easy to understand, but the gameplay loop is too simple and a little bit unsatisfying. You talk to the traders, tell them jokes or riddles, but I had to go through each option because there was no way to tell which would increase my friendship with the traders, I had to guess. It was not very fun to repeatedly skip through the dialogue to figure out which gave friendship. The art style is simple, but a little too simple. The environment is bland and not varied at all, so it wasn't interesting to look at and I wasn't interested in exploring. Overall, there wasn't really a lot to do and it wasn't very engaging. If you want to turn it into a real game, I would suggest adding more mechanics. It kind of feels like you might be trying to go for a top-down RPG, so make it an RPG. Look to other games for inspiration, like Runescape, Terraria, etc. What makes those games fun? Ask yourself that, and then ask yourself what would make your game fun.
