A very basic platformer which uses only one-button for movement.

  • What a clever idea! A very clear connection with the theme, and a cute puzzle! I didn't know what to do for a second, but as soon as I clicked and moved the X, I figured it out. There was an even better moment of realization when I could move the commands as well. It made me feel clever in a way that good puzzle games do. Good choice of music, too. It was a fun little song to use. The game runs smoothly, and I didn't run into any glitches while trying to finish the game. The visuals were very simple, and the animation as well, but that's absolutely all you needed. I knew the diamonds were collectibles, I knew the spikes were dangerous, so that was easily understood. Overall, a fun game, with a lot of potential to scale. I would be curious to see how long you could keep up the single-input mechanic while still keeping it interesting. I could imagine some very fun combinations, and timed moves. I hope you learned a lot from this jam, and maybe you'll take this idea further in the future.

Great work! I would say being able to “program” the inputs with delays might make a more fluid experience. Really enjoyed the tune that went with the game to set the atmosphere!

Thank you so much! My friend made the song and I think he'd be really happy to hear that.

Very nice interpretation of the theme! The game is very enjoyable! Perhaps consider creating a dedicated menu to connect movement inputs, so they don't obstruct your level design.
