• What a cozy game! I was a bit afraid when I saw it was a visual novel format, as those can be hard to present in a short-form game jam, but it was done wonderfully. I would go with an opaque text box rather than a low opacity one, since the background is pretty detailed and gets in the way of legibility. The writing is paced in a way that keeps the player's attention without being overwhelming, and the music + sound effects create an ambiance that keeps the brain focused. It was relaxing to just listen to the sounds of the game. I loved the setting of being the shop owner being presented with an adventurer's quest rather than the adventurer seeking help. It was a nice situation reversal, and created a fun way to integrate the jam theme. It takes you right into the story, and builds up nicely from there with clear controls and fun interactions. Very fun play, well paced, and well written!
