Briefly describe your project
Framed! is a location based AR experience that puts you at the scene of a crime in order to clear a friend's name. Your friend has been accused of murder and asks you to collect evidence that would bring the real killer to justice. Using a UV light, you capture 3 key pieces of evidence: fibers from a sweater, a handprint, and blood. Hopefully, it will be enough to clear your friend's name. The project allows the user to become immersed in a story that utilizes real world locations.
How did you innovate on this product (VPS/ARDK features)?
Using VPS allowed me to be able to add interactive elements to multiple areas within the park. Being able to scan a location and bring the mesh into Unity, enabled me to place objects in a way that seamlessly blended the digital content with the real world.
How did you use Remote Authoring or Maps Beta? (Optional)
Remote Authoring was a HUGE help in making this project possible. It enabled me to place my prefabs exactly where I needed them to be. I was also able to prototype quickly with private scans around my apartment first. Once I got the functionality working, I was easily able to swap out my test wayspots for the real ones and adjust the placement of the anchors accordingly. It also allowed me to test at times when I wasn't able to get to the park.
How does it speak to Niantic's mission? (Optional)
I used multiple locations to really encourage users to move around, explore, and interact with different sections of the park.
How complete is your project? (Optional)
I would say about 90% complete. Everything works correctly. I would just love to add additional elements, as well as adjust the positioning of some of the anchors.

The cleverness of the fiber strand reveal and the video hologram design make this look so darn good!!! Nice work!
Thank you so much! I appreciate it
