Really like how this involves different types of recycling bins - could be a neat way of teaching about recycling overall if expanded out :) Nice concept!

Briefly describe your project
Mail It! is a game made for a younger audience. You need to collect mail from mailboxes and deliver it to 'creatures'. These creatures are linked to specific kinds of garbage to promote recycling, next to just being a fun time based game. The focus is on fun, interactive AR gameplay and physical AR interactions rather than visuals
How did you innovate on this product (VPS/ARDK features)?
Making this would not be possible without VPS. There are no images which can be placed or detected, so placing objects in-editor is great! It also can incorporate Depth Occlusion to blend the characters into the real world (especially on IOS devices with LiDAR. On android the accuracy was not high enough)
How did you use Remote Authoring or Maps Beta? (Optional)
You can use the build with 'For Niantic Office' to play at Bocce Ball, relic, and Bellevue Park Fountain. I used remote authoring to place objects within unity. This could be done without going to the location and can be tested in unity, which is amazing. Because of this I got USA locations working as well! This also gets rid of any tracking points or image detection requirements, so the experience can be fully immersive.
How does it speak to Niantic's mission? (Optional)
If deployed at more locations this will show people places where to get rid of their garbage responsibly. This will create a brighter future for everyone, so people can be happy together
How complete is your project? (Optional)
The basic gameplay works well. I made it for 1 VPS location in Gouda, The Netherlands. I also made a version for another VPS location, but this was not scanned well enough to trigger VPS localization. It can easily be expanded to other locations due to the modular setup and remote authoring
