I've developed a unique toolkit that fuses Niantic ARDK with Maps, enabling developers to swiftly create narrative-driven AR experiences like RPGs, scavenger hunts, and more. This toolkit streamlines the development process, reducing programming complexity and allowing creators to focus on the unique features of their games. A prime example of this toolkit's capabilities is my project, "Secret of the Menehune." Set in Hawaii, it not only offers engaging quests across Waikiki but also educates players about invasive species and Hawaiian culture, promoting environmental awareness. The game uses innovative mechanics like the "Mana Lens," leveraging Niantic's semantic segmentation to interact with the environment, and integrates a detailed Menehune Map for navigation, blending real-world geography with the game's realms. This combination of technology and cultural respect illustrates how the toolkit can be used to create immersive, educational AR experiences.
