Jam Story
This month was very busy as 2-3 other game jams were going on at the same time that we had interest in. After working on the 36 word game jam I knew I wanted to try my hand at something else small but with more substance. I came across both the Jan.Jam and the Aesthetic Jam at the same time and knew I could cover both with the same project.

The idea first came about with trying to make a game that somehow used Honeycore as it's driving factor. I knew other devs would probably do something more direct using bees as a main piece of the game/asset. I only wanted the 'flavor' of Honeycore rather than it being the bread and butter only of it.

I had the idea and it was very simple: What if Gordon Ramsey had a personal Dad rival? Like Timmy's dad in Fairy Odd Parents. I knew I wanted a game that basically made the Dinkleburg memes a reality. No joke, so I started working on writing this grill wars two dads arguing over a picnic spot in Summer. And the rest flourished from there.

I asked my roomate who's also a writer if he wanted to get in on it. And later on in the project searched Itch assets for art of food. I knew if I could find a vibe I liked I could potentially reach out to them and ask if they wanted to collaborate. I was very fortunate to find Naj and she did an excellent job on the game and we're so proud to have had her on.
