- Stunning visuals and good audio creates a wonderfull atmosphere. Commerically, with a lot of polishing, you can imagine a game which feels as beautiful and relaxing as Flower to play. At the moment this is hampered by problematic controls and frustrating gameplay. I found it very difficult to leap over the obstacles - it took me many attempts to clear the first one and it felt more like brute force than skill. I would recommend implementing gamepad controls and focusing on refining the physics and the feel of swimming and leaping like a fish. I would love to play this again with controls which feel as fluid as the Dreamcast version of Ecco the Dolphin. The visuals and audio are already fantastic!
- I really love this. There is massive Snake Pass / Tony Hawks Pro Skater / Okami potential here! I love it! But WHY oh WHY is the turning controlled with the mouse?!?!! Fantastic job though guys. I particularly enjoyed riding the mill wheel.
- Strong audio and visuals starting from the menu, the soft colours and tranquil music worked together relly well to add a calming mood to the gameplay. The level design was great; intuitive layout and nice flow from start to finish, some of the rocky obstacles could do with being a little easier to traverse. The ability to reset was a very useful tool when navigating the rocky obstacles. The feel of gliding around picking up the fireflies was very smooth, it gave me sold spyro vibes which was a nice bonus. Direction with controls was good, I got all information I needed without going through a tutorial and the ability to hied/unhide the controls was a nice touch. Possibly a little information about the use of the mouse while gliding to change your trajectory would have been useful, that came to me after a few minutes of gameplay. Some collision smoothing around the rocky areas to prevent getting caught or stuck would make the experience that little bit smoother (the respot button helped avoid any frustration). This perfectly fit the theme of leap. It was fundamental to the core mechanic, featured in every obstacle, and was a large part of the innovative gameplay. I was very impressed with this game in all areas
- The art for this game is lovely! It looks very similar to Okami, so it could make the game more unique and interesting visually if it was set somewhere other than Japan. The gameplay was fun to play and well explained. However, after a while the game play loop could get quite stale in a longer playthrough. This could be combated by adding a multiplayer mode where others are all fighting for the same collectables, and it's a race to find them all. Alternatively this team could develop this game with more cinematic elements like the game Journey and really immerse the player in the world. Overall, this was a solid and fun entry!
- Simple and effective with a lovely art style, very easy to play and a nice layout for the level, particularly in how you are moving up the river. The controls didn't feel fluid enough, the transition from jump to glide felt inconsistent and snagging on the environment caused some weird effects. I would have liked the option for keyboard or gamepad controls. Overall, a fun game with nice visuals and lots of potential.
