- Watch out the sensibility of the mouse. It feels way too fast, without the player having to tweak his own settings.
- The video is a bit on the long side, but I will allow for that showing the pride the developer has in the game, wanting to show a full loop. There is a bit of variety in the enemies, weapons and skill trees. Movement looks smooth - but I'd have liked to see more time spent on the weapon movement. In an FPS it takes up a large part of the screen; so needs to look great and convey the player input.
- - Fun game, well presented - Well thought-out design with addictive gameplay! - Balanced approach to weapons, level design - Add some user settings, like sensitivity or axis inversion - Few bugs here and there (deadstate involving killing multiple targets at once) - Some polish and this could be a shippable product
- Great fun to play, fun weapon design, and a compelling progression mechanic. I really enjoyed this project, and I can see many ways to take it further, without losing the underlying concept (new AI types and behaviour, different maps, or maps that change over time, co-op play). I also liked the tutorial help text appearing as I progressed. It's fairly well polished, with a tight gameplay loop, but there are a couple of minor niggles: - Gamepad doesn't work in the menus - Game should have an art pass, particularly the UI - Needs an settings menu (basic stuff like look sensitivity, or brightness) - Bug that stopped progression, I think happens when you kill two enemies with one shot. The game thought there was still an enemy alive, but there wasn't. Iron these things out, and add a few extra features, and this should do well.
- Controls were a little broken, but a fun game nonetheless! Some minor polish and QoL fixes would go a long way. Looks good, is fun to play, I like the variety of enemies.
- I actually spent a lot of time playing this - and I know some of the other judges have too. A really excellent game idea and polished game project. The UI looks good throught out - I like the animated UI and context specific help you're providing as you interact with the menus. Particularly having the audio stings as UI things happen adds a real extra layer of polish to the game. The HUD seems to convey all of the relevant information and the more I look, the more I notice. The one thing I couldn't find was a cooldown for the alternate fire... I also really like how you're teaching the game as each way passes, and increases the difficulty, with pop-up text. Consider adding the same audio stings to it, to grab the players attention. Also, consider adding a bit more fanfare to a wave completion, so it becomes more of an event, and is quite clear that - everything is about to start coming for you again! The high score feature is excellent - and a really great way to encourage people to spend hours playing competitvely with their friends trying to one up each other. I think the only sticking point for me playing the game was that the tab button didn't also close the menu - consider adding it as the player's hand is probably already right next to it. And for the pro players that want to get in and out of the skills menu quickly, can. Consider adding more sound effects, and musical changes, as there's a danger that smaller pools of audio effects become repetitive. I'd recommend carrying on with this game and get it on a platform that people can play! Excellent project - well done! P.s. how do you say the name of the game?!
- The game is impressive as it shows your knowledge about UE4 in gameplay, UI and AI. You have some nice UI animations which adds some more juice to the game. The feedback from hitting is good, UI, particle effects and sounds all come together nicely to make for a good response. The only improvement I can think of is making the enemies move smoother, the tank-like enemies come to a sudden stop at their point and change their rotation. Have them move smoother would make the game look nicer. For the drone enemies if they leaned in the direction they were heading I think that would look more immersive. As a piece of programming, it is great, there are no areas it broke when I was playing so it is well made, well done. Some documentation on the page about what you have done in this project would be helpful and any issues that you had while creating this project would really show your knowledge of game development.
- Great job! A lot of nice mechanics here and everything seemed to work pretty well. Had one wave that got stuck but apart from that no bugs. Only managed to get 28250 during my judging though 👍
