Judge feedback

  • I liked the ambition of the project such as the skills system and level up abilities. This clearly took a great deal of time. However I would have rather seen less in the skills department and more polish and refinement on the battle system itself. Stuff like great game feel, stronger UI and better feedback would have gone a long way. Controls weren't inttuative and the UI caused issues. Also there was nothing that showed up that mentioned it was a coop game.
  • Couldn't find any documentation for this game, so I couldn't judge that. The fact that this was two player instantly made this game a fair bit more interesting than if it were a singleplayer game. That being said, the concepts and mechanics on show here were fairly bare bones and lacked depth. The ingame menu was fairly unreliable and broken fairly often. A smaller set of deeper features would have made this game more engaging. It unfortunately is a case of quantity over quality. The trap of being overly ambitious can be a tough one to get out of sometimes.
  • Documentation non existent, Literally unable to progress past the opening 30 seconds as despite pressing every key on my keyboard & plugging in my USB Controller to see if that would be set to player 2, could not get player 2 to move. As player 2 can't move, the game can't progress as the camera won't follow. No control scheme display present in the game and no control scheme in documentation, as again, none to be found, or on linked portfolio website. can't judge what I can't play. Having now checked the game page - seen the following "BE ADVISED: Om requires two gamepads to play." - can't play it then can I.
