- Would have been good to have seen some untextured geometry with wireframes to give a clear view of the topology. Flat texture examples would be a nice addition as well. I can see a lot of effort has gone into the textures and materials for these characters but I think they would have all benefitted from more refinement at the modelling stage before moving onto textures. Human characters are always subject to such close scrutiny so it’s worth putting the effort into getting the base character right before moving on to all the clothing and equipment. Some of the elements feel a bit like they are simply stuck together in 3d rather than having the sort of relationships that real world objects have e.g. how is the knife and shoulder pad attached to the engineer’s jacket, could there be creases and tension in the clothing around them. The hair on the Sith character lets it down a bit, the hair on the engineer works better.
- A good variety of work but I'd recommend focusing on improving skills in specific areas. Eg studies that focus more on one area ... such as hair, anatomy, hard surface, clothing. Also a breakdown that shows hi res, ingame topology and texturing would be good to see.
