  • atmospheric and tense horror - well done!
  • Great lighting and use of film language. Understand the blackout cuts for effect, but much too dark in some scenes to really know what was happening. Not a terribly original concept - very Doom like. Hotel room (?) at the end felt a bit incongruous. Some nice character nuance behind the visor, though movement a bit lumpy and some hard-braking on the camera work. Sound design was apt for the genre. Good sound edits.
  • Creepy stuff! Enjoyed the way you had the monster creeping closer at the end. Lots of ambition here to tell a story. Congratulations on finishing a complete film. All the best for your future in animation.
  • Wow. This is a great display of all your hard work. Had me on the edge of my seat watching. Great use of lighting effects throughout, in particular during the shooting scenes how the flash of the shots lit up the helmet. Giving the audience a quick glance of the face underneath. Oh and the creature design, loved it, well done!
  • Indeed a very ambitious project, but has been done well. Good quality looking models and textures. Video game feel to it. Definitly has that tense slow build up like kubrick style filmmaking and scenes from Alien. certain parts cut be edited a little snappier though to add pace and urgency in areas. maybe additional quick shots to help with this. Edit feels slow in areas ( mainly the first encounter with the big monster ) . Great work on hand keyframing all of this. Marine character animation is a little floaty though and for this style of animation, motion capture could help add more realism potentially ( even if its just used as a foundation for you to add keyframe animation on top ) Would have been nice to see gun shot FX and bullet impact effects on the monster, but this is just icing on top of cake. One thing, when the monster at the end comes over to him it feels like he puts his arm up in front if him as if to say ... Bite my arm, rather than trying to block an attack. So just a timing issue on that front. So in room 237 theres a creepy naked old lady in the bathroom, and next door is a big alien monster... love it. Great stuff
