The player's health also serves as their ammunition and their fuel. Moving in this game is done exclusively through shooting, which takes up the player's health. Safe havens (blue cubes in the game) also serve 2 purposes. They allow for players to recharge their finite supply of health and they provide immunity and infinite ammo so that the player can quickly kill any nearby enemies without depleting their resources so as to avoid getting surrounded and overwhelmed.
