How does your game fit the theme?
My game embodies the theme "Built to Scale" by allowing the player to dynamically alter their size throughout the gameplay. Depending on the player's scale, they can interact with the environment in unique ways—navigating tight spaces when small, moving heavy objects when large, or balancing between agility and strength in medium size. The puzzles and challenges are intricately designed around these mechanics, requiring players to strategically change their scale to progress. By building both the environment and gameplay around the concept of scale, I have created a unique experience that fully embraces the theme.

In this puzzle-platformer game, you play as a character with the unique ability to change size at will. The game is set in a world where scale is everything—tiny objects become enormous obstacles, and what once seemed insurmountable can be easily overcome with a quick change in perspective. The environment and challenges are carefully crafted to make full use of the scaling mechanic, requiring players to think creatively about how to approach each puzzle.

Gameplay:

Size Manipulation: The core mechanic of the game revolves around the ability to shift between three distinct sizes—small, medium, and large. Each size offers different advantages and disadvantages:

Small Size: As a small character, you can slip through tight spaces, avoid detection, and access areas that would be impossible to reach otherwise. However, your strength and ability to interact with larger objects are limited.
Medium Size: In your default state, you strike a balance between agility and strength. This size is versatile and allows you to interact with most objects and enemies effectively.
Large Size: As a large character, you possess great strength, allowing you to move heavy objects and overcome large obstacles. However, your size makes you slower and less agile, making you vulnerable in tight or dangerous environments.
Environmental Interaction: The levels are designed with various obstacles, enemies, and puzzles that require the player to strategically switch between sizes. For example, you may need to become small to pass through a narrow passage, then grow large to push a boulder out of the way, and finally return to medium size to jump across a gap.

Morph Limit: To add an extra layer of challenge, each level has a limited number of times you can change size. This forces players to think carefully about when and how to use their size-changing ability, adding a strategic element to the gameplay.

Levels:

Tutorial Level: The game begins with a tutorial level that introduces the player to the size-changing mechanics and basic controls. Here, the player learns how each size affects their abilities and how to solve simple puzzles.

Increasing Difficulty: As the game progresses, the puzzles become more complex, requiring more thoughtful use of the size-changing mechanic. Some levels might feature multiple solutions, encouraging players to experiment with different strategies.

Diverse Environments: Each level is set in a unique environment that takes advantage of the scale mechanic in different ways. From claustrophobic tunnels and towering cliffs to sprawling landscapes filled with movable objects, the game constantly challenges the player to think about size in new ways.

Art Style and Sound:

Visual Style: The game features a clean and minimalist art style, with clear, contrasting colors that make it easy to distinguish between interactive elements and the environment. The use of scale is visually emphasized, making it clear how the player’s size affects their interaction with the world.

Sound Design: The sound design is carefully crafted to match the player’s size and actions. For example, footsteps sound lighter when small and heavier when large. Each interaction, such as pushing an object or jumping, is accompanied by appropriate sound effects, enhancing the immersion.

I couldn’t find the buttons to change the size; I think they should at least be mentioned in the description. It’s a shame.

If you want to check out our game, feel free to do so :3 https://butterflan.itch.io/spicy-king

There is an Tutorial Level but it only works when you download the game

Interesting idea.
I couldn't figure out the controls for changing size and had to go back to the menu to check. Recommend a tutorial level or putting them in the itch description.
I also had to restart as I was playing with changing size and ran out of morphs.

There is an Tutorial Leve and the morph counter also works but only when you download the game

I think the puzzle elements and size changing are done quite well overall, but I felt like limiting the amount of times you can change size was more annoying than challenging as it would lead to having to restart the level due to not knowing what comes next. It also doesn't help that the morphs left counter seems to not be working. I would also constantly get stuck in level 4 after accidentally pushing the smaller boxes to the wall trying to jump over them.
